Introduction

This section describes how to setup salary packaging for superannuation contributions in excess of the Superannuation Guaranteee for an employee.

Adding a new Salary Sacrifice Superannuation item

For before tax employee superannuation contributions use the Salary Sacrifice Super option.

To add a Salary Sacrifice Super amount:

  1. Select the Salary Sacrifice Super option from the dropdown list of salary packaging types
  2. Click the New Salary Sacrifice Super button
  3. Select the employee’s superannuation fund from the Super Fund dropdown
  4. Enter a Description for the salary sacrifice
  5. Select the relevant Type (e.g. Fixed amount or a %)
  6. Enter either an Amount or Percentage depending on the selected type
  7. Enter the employee’s Membership Number
  8. Click the Save Changes button to add the salary sacrifice for the employee

NOTE: All salary sacrifice contributions are reportable, so the Reportable Employee Superannuation Contribution field cannot be unticked.

Adding a new Post Tax Employee Super item

For after tax employee contributions use the Post Tax Employee Super option.

To add a Post Tax Employee Super amount:

  1. Select the Post Tax Employee Super option from the dropdown list of salary packaging types
  2. Click the New Post Tax Employee Super button
  3. Select the employee’s superannuation fund from the Super Fund dropdown
  4. Enter a Description for the salary sacrifice
  5. Select the relevant Type (e.g. Fixed amount or a %)
  6. Enter either an Amount or Percentage depending on the selected Type
  7. Enter the employee’s Membership Number
  8. Click the Save Changes button to add the post tax super contribution for the employee

Adding a new Additional Employer Super item

Use Addional Employer Super where you would like to make superannuation contributions for an employee in excess of the legislated superannuation guaranteee requirement.

To add an Additional Employer Super amount:

  1. Click the Additional Employer Super option from the dropdown list of salary packaging types
  2. Click the New Additional Employer Super button
  3. Select the employee’s superannuation fund from the Super Fund dropdown
  4. Enter a Description for the salary sacrifice
  5. Select the relevant Type (e.g. Fixed amount or a %)
  6. Enter either an Amount or Percentage depending on the selected Type
  7. Enter the employee’s Membership Number
  8. If the additional employer superannuation is a Reportable Employee Superannuation Contribution then place a tick in the Reportable Employee Superannuation Contribution checkbox
  9. Click the Save Changes button to add the post tax super contribution for the employee

  1. Select the Salary Sacrifice Super option from the dropdown list of salary packaging types
  2. Find the Salary Sacrifice item that you want to edit and click the Edit button
  3. Select the employee’s superannuation fund from the Super Fund dropdown
  4. Enter a Description for the salary sacrifice
  5. Select the relevant Type (e.g. Fixed amount or a %)
  6. Enter either an Amount or Percentage depending on the selected type
  7. Enter the employee’s Membership Number
  8. Click the Save Changes button to add the salary sacrifice for the employee

NOTE: All salary sacrifice contributions are reportable, so the Reportable Employee Superannuation Contribution field cannot be unticked.

To update a Post Tax Employee Super amount:

  1. Select the Post Tax Employee Super option from the dropdown list of salary packaging types
  2. Find the Post Tax Employee Super item that you want to edit and click the Edit button

  4. Enter a Description for the salary sacrifice
  5. Select the relevant Type (e.g. Fixed amount or a %)
  6. Enter either an Amount or Percentage depending on the selected Type
  7. Enter the employee’s Membership Number
  8. Click the Save Changes button to add the post tax super contribution for the employee

  6. Enter either an Amount or Percentage depending on the selected Type
  7. Enter the employee’s Membership Number
  8. If the additional employer superannuation is a Reportable Employee Superannuation Contribution then place a tick in the Reportable Employee Superannuation Contribution checkbox
  9. Click the Save Changes button to add the post tax super contribution for the employee
