Changing an Employee's Super Fund

Introduction

This topic explains how to change an employee’s superannuation fund.

NOTE: This topic is specific to the employee’s Superannuation Guarantee super fund. To find the super fund details that are used for Salary Sacrifice, Addititional Employer Super and After Tax Employee Super contributions, refer to the Superannuation Payments help topic.

Viewing an employee’s super fund

To view an employee’s super fund details:

  1. Go to the Employees screen using the menu
  2. Use the search filters or the page navigation links at the bottom of the screen to find the employee if required

    NOTE: For more details on locating an employee record, refer to the Searching for Employees help topic.

  3. Click on the employees name to view the employees record
  4. Select the Payment tab
  5. You will see the super fund name and member number that is used for the employee’s Superannuation Guarantee contributions.

Editing an employee’s super fund

To view an employee’s super fund details:

  1. Go to the Employees screen using the menu
  2. Use the search filters or the page navigation links at the bottom of the screen to find the employee if required

    NOTE: For more details on locating an employee record, refer to the Searching for Employees help topic.

  3. Click on the employees name to view the employees record
  4. Select the Payment tab
  5. Click the Edit button at the bottom right of the screen
  6. Scroll to the Primary Super Fund section of the page
  7. Select the employees new super fund from the Super Fund Name dropdown

    NOTE: If the super fund is not available in the dropdown list, refer to the Managing Superannuation Funds help topic.

  8. Enter the employee’s Member Number
  9. If your superannuation payments are managed by Ready pay (powered by ePayroll), any unpaid superannuation constribution amounts will be shown in a table below the Super Fund Name and Member Number Fields. Place a tick next to any unpaid super contributions that need to be directed to the new super fund.
  10. Click the Save Changes button

NOTE: Changing the fund details here will only change the superannuation fund used for any Superannuation Guarantee contributions. For any contributions that are not compulsory (e.g. salary sacrifice, additional employer, employee post tax) you will also need to make your changes on the Salary Packaging screen. Refer to Superannuation Payments for more information.
