Adding a New Position

In this topic

Introduction

This topic describes how to add a new position to the organisation chart.

NOTE: This topic explains how to do the update through the Flow Chart screen. An alternate method is to do the update through the ‘Flow Chart’ tab on the employee’s profile.

Adding a new Position in Modern View

To create a new position

  1. Go to the Administration -> Flow Chart screen
  2. Select the required Organisation Chart from the dropdown list

NOTE: Your account may have more than one organisation chart. You may need to check other parts of the system, for example, Leave or Expense Management to identify the Organisation Chart that you want to view.

  3. The selected Organisation Chart will be loaded onto the screen

NOTE: By default, this will be in Organisation Chart View, however, there is also a Tree View which is useful for larger Organisation Charts.

  4. Locate the position which will be the parent of the new position
  5. Click the Settings icon at the top right of the parent position
  6. Select Add Position link in the fly out menu
  7. Enter a Name for the new position
  8. At the Escalate Days field, enter the number of days that an application should wait for action at this position before it should move to the next work flow position
  9. At Escalate Time (AEST), select the time of day that escalations should be processed
  10. Select the Escalation Type that should occur for this position:
    • Next Position escalates to the next position up in the chart
    • Selected Position escalates to a specified position on the chart
    • Top Node escalates to the highest position on the chart
  11. If Selected Position is selected as the Escalated Position Type, specify the position to escalate to at the Selected Position dropdown
  12. Click the Add button
